$ 1000 Gold Again
For those who have written off the market commodity and gold especailly (as Mahendra) and long on the U.S. $, things ar not going well. As I have written for nearly a decade now, the gold is a race of bull and it's not over by any stretch of imagination, but there may be serious seasonal visits from time to time. In the last few weeks, gold has instructed FRO $ 850 to $ 975.
When gold crossed the $ 1,000 psychological barrier, I predicted that it would fall back on and go into a holding pattern, as you can read on this website.
However, there are three things which cause gold to shine!
1-Inflation
2-The threat of war
3-Uncertianity financial markets.
Thus, it seems that we are 3 for 3! And if we talk about baseball from 3 to 3 are three home runs in three at-bats.
Inflation will double and perhaps even more so last year. The price of oil is driving everything up, up and away. The Fed has conducted an experiment mad fearing slowdown and financial amrkets rate cuts EH as they have so long and so far (record breacking down) inflation will return when straong and fast, the Fed can not raise rates fast enough to keep it off.
The threat of war worse each day as the rhetoric between the United States, Iran, and Israel continues to ratchet upward. Iran does not retreat train their nuclear plans and Israel will not sit and wait until they have the weaker hand to do something. And it does wrong with America that comes from nuclear plants, but it will, with the approval of the United States of course. Then it goes to 200 oil $ + A barrel and the price of a gallon of gas now in four digits atmosphere.
Then we have the financial markets! Wow The second largest bank failure in U.S. history. The rpediction that hundreds of banks go belly up this year. Fannie Mae slaps on the back by Freddie Mac and Bennie Bernanke & the federal government to avert interference trillion mortgage detention six great mess!
And you think that gold does not go north of $ 1000 again?
